"The most potent muse of all is our own inner child."
Imagine waking up and finding yourself to be 4 years old again. What would you do once you opened your eyes?
What would you see, where would you first go when you jumped out of bed?
What would you be wearing?
Where is your favorite toy, book, food?
What is your favorite playtime activity?
Who would you want to be with?
What is comforting to you?
Here are some of the imagery insights that my clients have recently shared….
"My inner child is in a room filled with lots of toys, and all of my favorite foods---
This image has helped me return to my curious self--exploring activities I hadn't considered before."
"My inner child is telling me to play---
I grew up so fast I feel like I never played
I now know that part of my life purpose includes play--
I don't have to be productive all of the time."
"I have been feeling guilty if I am not always pushing myself.
But when I remember the joy of playing and creating with my friends it brings
me tears and smiles. I miss her ! I remember that being creative gives me energy-
it is a good thing to play !"
"When I was a child, I loved Saturday mornings. My sister and I would gather together extra large paper remnants my dad got from the printer.
We would draw together. I loved the feel and smell of the crayons and the freedom to draw big on these giant pieces of paper….."
Try this: One Saturday morning---try getting up and being
a child again-do the things you loved to do-
Then create a journal just for that child and let her words and drawings inspire you for 2012
